This is my passion. Lions, elephants, bears, whales, gorillas, wolves, eagles, leopards, penguins, sea lions…the list goes on. It is a privilege to see animals in the wild. We understand that responsible wildlife tourism can protect endangered species, encourage governments to invest in conservation, and generate income for communities, and these are the providers we support. “Charismatic megafauna” are our primary draw, but we’ve learned that every animal can be fascinating with the right guide.
This is my husband’s passion. Fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling, white water rafting–if it includes a boat or a hook, he’s in. There are a number of beautiful beaches in the world, but our focus is on active immersion. We want to be in remote locations where we can see colorful corals and swim with whale sharks. If the scenery is picturesque, that’s a bonus. As with wildlife, we seek out eco-friendly and sustainable providers who follow catch and release practices and adhere to local regulations for maintaining distance from whales and dolphins.
You’ve no doubt heard the quote “A ship in harbour is safe, but that is not what ships are built for.” At the beginning of our relationship, we followed many of the same itineraries as everyone else. We went sightseeing and visited museums, and that was nice. But once we experienced the fun of cave-tubing in Belize and waterfall rapelling in Costa Rica, we realized we want to feel alive on vacation, and for us that means pushing ourselves physically and exploring different terrains and cultures. Our trips include hiking, canyoning, dog sledding, kayaking, ziplining–anything that gets our blood pumping and our spirits soaring.
Sometimes traveling to remote locations for the best wildlife encounters means paying a premium to stay at a luxury property. This is 100% worth it to us for the quality of the guides and the personalized experiences they deliver. (Small details like hot water bottles placed in the bed during the turn down service and an outdoor boma barbecue served by an executive chef are pretty fantastic, too.) However, we recognize that not every part of a vacation needs to cost a fortune. We’ll spend three nights at a 5 star lodge and then stay at an apartment rental with a kitchen for the next two nights to make our own meals and catch up on laundry. Just as we believe the same trip should have both water and wildlife components, we think the same itinerary can include splurges and cost-saving measures. It’s all part of the adventure.
You want to feel alive, connect with your family, make memories with friends, and BE in the moment. You realize life is short and time is precious. Vacations matter. Contact us with the wildlife you’d like to see, the fish you’d like to catch, or the adventure you’d like to experience, and we will do the research to make your dreams a reality. With over 12 years of experience planning our own wildlife and water adventures in ten different countries, we know how to put together meaningful travel itineraries with ethical providers who are working hard to make a difference. Elevate your next vacation from good to life-giving.

We’ve benefited first-hand from Erica’s passion and care around personalized travel itineraries and logistics. Not only have her trips been fun and carefree, but they have also given us the opportunity to have “once-in-a-lifetime” experiences many times. over.

Erica is great at coming up with activities and restaurants that appeal to everyone. We’ve made a lot of memories together, but the days fishing with John are my favorite.

“People say that what we’re all seeking is a meaning for life. I don’t think that’s what we’re really seeking. I think that what we’re seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonances with our own innermost being and reality, so that we…
Going on an African safari changed my life. As far as I’m concerned, everyone should go to Africa at least once. But maybe your dream vacation isn’t Africa. Maybe it’s Italy or Japan or the Maldives. Maybe it’s in the United States–an Alaskan cruise or a luxurious resort in Hawaii. You’ve thought about it many…
Being an animal lover, a safari had always been my number one bucket list destination, but I knew to do it the way I wanted to that it would cost a lot more than we could probably afford. That was honestly the beginning of, well, everything–how I thought about money, how I thought about travel,…
We knew this was where we wanted to go for our ten year anniversary. The fact that the Todos Santos Eco Adventure owners, Bryan and Sergio Jauregui, had their own love story in the idyllic Sea of Cortez off the coast of La Paz made it that much sweeter.
Canyoning is much more than an adventure activity. It’s a metaphor for life. Jump in. Let go. Trust others. And don’t let anyone tell you you’re too old to have fun.
Though Victoria Falls is often included as a three day addition to the beginning or end of a safari vacation, for those who love fishing and adventure, it’s well worth spending at least four or five nights in the area, especially if you are staying at Victoria Falls River Lodge with an animal-loving spouse.
